Surrealistic like 11 x 8 inchWatercolor original painting depicting feminine strength and beauty. "Mara in the Wild" was inspired by a dear friend relaxing in the Puerto Rican countryside surrounded by resilient bamboo trees that creeked and growned as they swayed in the tropical country breeze. It's almost as if they are whispering to each other sharing stories of the resilient woman who had walked under their bending limbs and rustling leaves through the years. Mara herself if strong in body, mind and spirit she is intelligent and beautiful, full of passion and grace. The Birds represent the wildness of the countryside far above the beaches, singing their songs that acommpany the whispering of the bamboo - it was all quite magical.

I stressed this paper by soaking it in a bucket of water and while it was still wet, I dropped on liquid water color paint. I soaked it and again and then slightly crumbled it to give it some creased in the color. It is soft and pliable and looks like an old piece of art. I love to manipulate the paper and the colors like this.
